What is a linear induction motor? A linear induction motor is an electric transmission device that does not have a conversion device from rotary motion to linear motion, and can directly convert electrical energy into linear mechanical energy.

Classification and structure of linear induction motors
flat motor
Cylinder type motor
Disc type motor
There are mainly three types of linear induction motors: flat plate type, cylindrical type and ring disk type, among which the flat plate type is the most widely used.
Linear induction motors can be seen as an evolution from rotary induction motors. It is envisaged that the rotary induction motor is cut radially, the circumference is expanded into a straight line, and a flat linear induction motor is obtained (the rotary motor is transformed into a linear induction motor). The side originating from the stator is called the primary side and the side originating from the rotor is called the secondary side. Due to the relative motion between the primary side and the secondary side during operation, in order to ensure that the electromagnetic coupling between the primary side and the secondary side remains unchanged within the required stroke range, in practical applications, the primary side and the secondary side are Sides must be connected. The length of the secondary side is different, either the primary side is long and the secondary side is short, or the primary side is short and the secondary side is long. The former is called the long primary side and the latter is called the short primary side (flat type linear induction motor). Because the structure of the short primary side is relatively simple, and the manufacturing cost and operating cost are relatively low, except for special occasions, the short primary side is generally used.
The flat linear induction motor has only the primary side on one side of the secondary side. This structure is called a single-sided type. Its biggest feature is that there is a large reverse suction between the secondary side and the secondary side, which is not desirable in most cases. If the primary side is installed on both sides of the secondary side, the reverse suction can cancel each other out. This structure is called a double-sided type, as shown in the double-sided linear induction motor.
The secondary side iron core of the flat linear induction motor is made of silicon steel sheet, and the side opposite to the secondary side has a slot, and the winding is placed in the slot. Windings can be single-phase, two-phase, three-phase or multi-phase. There are two secondary side structures: one is the grid structure, the iron core is slotted, and the guide bars are placed in the groove; the end guide rod is used to connect all the guide rods in the groove. The other is a solid structure, using a monolithic homogeneous metal material, which can be divided into a non-magnetic secondary side and a steel secondary side. The non-magnetic secondary side has good electrical conductivity and is generally copper or aluminum.
The flat linear induction motor shown is rolled into a cylindrical shape in the direction perpendicular to the linear motion, forming a cylindrical linear induction motor (an evolution of a cylindrical linear induction motor is shown). In special occasions, the motor can also be made into a rotary linear motor with both rotary motion and linear motion. The moving body that rotates linearly may be the primary side or the secondary side.
Disc type linear induction motor, its secondary side is made into a flat disc shape, which can rotate freely around the axis passing through the center of the circle: put the primary side on the secondary side disc on the outer edge plane of the motor, so that the disc is in the tangential force. under the action of rotation. However, its working principle and design method are the same as those of flat linear induction motors, which still belong to the category of linear motors. Compared with ordinary rotary electric machines, it has the following advantages: torque and rotational speed can be adjusted by combining multiple primary sides or by the radial position of the primary sides on the disk. The lower speed can be obtained without going through the gear reduction box, so the vibration and noise of the motor are low.
